FAQ

1. Do I always have to clean the engine before I can use Lifetime oil?
Lifetime motor oils can be used only in new engines (up to 15,000 kilometers) or in engines that have previously been cleaned with the Lifetime engine cleaners.

2. Can the chunks of dirt an engine cleaner removes actually damage the seals or even the engine?
All combustion engines suffer contamination, such as oil carbon, oil varnishes or sludge, which forms during longer periods of operation.
Particularly problematic are deposits at the piston rings. For example, so-called ‘ring sticking’ which causes the seizure of a piston ring in its groove due to a build-up of deposits on the piston.

The result
- Creeping loss of performance
- Increased wear
- Increased oil and fuel consumption
- Increased emissions
A contaminated engine must be professionally flushed and cleaned from the inside!

A clean engine is a good engine!
There is absolutely no reason to worry about an engine cleaner damaging the seals or the engine. Cleanliness cannot be faulted.
Lifetime engine cleaner does not contain any aggressive agents, which could harm the engine or its seals. Lifetime cleaning substances are extremely effective, material friendly and only clean where they are intended to clean. And the cleaner is completely neutral towards all common sealing compounds.

Extremely effective engine cleaning!
Lifetime engine cleaner is added to the warm engine prior to the oil change. Carbon deposits are removed after just 10-15 minutes of idle engine running and then drained off with the old oil. The engine looks like new!

4. Why should the engine and/or automatic transmission be cleaned before using Lifetime oil?
The Lifetime cleaners flush and clean the engine, automatic transmission and fuel systems from the inside.

Extremely effective cleaning additives dissolve the sludge and varnish residues and envelop solid particles as well as liquid impurities, which are removed with the waste oil during an oil change.

The primary advantages:
- The engine is returned to its full performance.
- The engine runs more quietly and with less wear.
- The exhaust emission characteristics are optimized.
- Insufficient lubrication is prevented.
- Fuel consumption is lower.
- Helps to smooth gear shifting and prevents malfunctions of the automatic transmission.

5. How does the oil conversion work?
Add the Lifetime engine cleaner to the warm engine (at least 60 °C oil temperature) and let the engine run on idle for 15 minutes. After this period, change the oil filter and drain the old motor oil. Replace the oil drainage screw and fill the oil tank with Lifetime motor oil. It's that easy!

6. Is there a guarantee? How am I protected?
The efficacy and safety for the cars and engines has been tested and confirmed in numerous tests and field studies. We firmly believe that we supply a product of the highest quality with leading-edge technology and therefore provide you with an extensive guarantee. You use Lifetime products without any risk whatsoever. For your safety we have taken out product liability insurance with a reputable insurance company. This insurance secures your claims in the event of damage that is demonstrably due to a defect in our motor oils and transmission fluids. This insurance protection is valid for the period of 10 years after the initial filling. In order for the insurance to grant this protection, the Lifetime oils may not be mixed with other oils and additives and you must comply with the oil change intervals specified by the manufacturer.

7. Is it true that oil changes are no longer necessary?
After the oil conversion to Lifetime Classic Oils no more oil changes are needed for 10 years* as the Lifetime formula protects the engine. Impurities such as soot and silica are processed and isolated, so that the harmful increase in the viscosity of the oil (thickening of the oil) is prevented. The last blending process then takes place in the engine. The trendsetting formula triggers a chemical reaction in the engine - which subjects the oil to pressure and higher temperatures - which results in the unique properties of the Lifetime Classic Oil.

8. After the conversion to Lifetime Classic Oil, I'll never have to check the oil level again, right?
On the contrary: even after filling up with Lifetime oils, you must check the oil level regularly. To do so, please follow the manufacturer's instructions in the operating manual of your car.

9. My dealer says that the warranty on my new car will be canceled if I use different oil. Is that true?
No, that's not correct. The factory warranty for your new car remains in effect as a rule. A missed oil change due to the usage of Lifetime Classic Oils will not justify the rejection of the warranty, if, for instance, the electronic system fails. However, in the event of damage due to inadequate oil quality, this is not covered. However, you use Lifetime products without any risk whatsoever. 10. Do I get a better environmental sticker for my old car if I use Lifetime oil?
No. Currently the environmental stickers are issued according to the new vehicle data provided by the manufacturer and not according to the actual exhaust values of the respective vehicle. Consequently, it is unfortunately impossible to obtain a better class of environmental sticker based on the use of Lifetime oils and the accompanying reduction in CO2 emissions.

11. How much fuel will I save with Lifetime System?
Multi-year field studies with our customers have shown that your fuel consumption will be reduced by up to 8%. However, it is not possible to predict exactly how much fuel you will save in a specific case.

12. Which oil is the right one for my car?
To select the correct Lifetime oil, please follow the manufacturer's recommendations for viscosity. You can find an additional overview of the Lifetime product range on the Internet at www.lifetime24.com. Alternatively, you can contact one of the licensed Lifetime service partners in your area, who will be pleased to advise you at any time.

13. Can I use Lifetime oil if I fill my tank with biodiesel?
Yes, as a rule you will enjoy advantages with regard to lower consumption and lower emissions even when you use biodiesel. However, you must continue to comply with the oil changing intervals specified by the manufacturer. The reason for this is that the volume of the biofuels in the motor oil constantly increases and cannot be degraded, as diesel biofuels do not evaporate like mineral fuels. During the period of use the motor oil is too heavily mixed with biofuels and cannot develop its positive characteristics to the same degree as with conventional fuels. Therefore, like other fully synthetic oils, it must be changed in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

14. Can I use Lifetime Classic Oils for motorcycles as well?
For motorcycles with dry clutches you can use Lifetime Formula 5W-40 with no problems. With regard to motorcycles with wet clutches, each vehicle must be evaluated on an individual basis, so that we can give you the best recommendation in a personal consultation. Just give us a call! Alternatively, you can contact one of the licensed Lifetime service partners in your area, who will be pleased to advise you at any time.

15. Is there a manufacturer approval?
Automobile manufacturers define their own standards with regard to the motor oil, as VW does with the latest 507.00 or BMW with the Longlife product line. Up to now, the manufacturers have not set any standards for the Lifetime Classic Oils.
Refer to the respective product description to discover which manufacturer standards Lifetime CS engine oils meet.

16. How fast does the oil conversion pay for itself?
Under the heading "Fleet Costing" you'll find a calculation tool with which you can precisely calculate your savings.

17. What happens if conventional oil added to the tank at some point?
No problem, just drain the conventional oil and refill the tank with Lifetime Classic Oil. When using the Lifetime CS system, simply add the correct amount of Lifetime Performer together with the new Lifetime CS oil to maintain perfect sealing.

18. What makes the Lifetime Classic Oil so unique?
The Lifetime formula protects the engine. Impurities such as soot and for example silica are processed and isolated, so that an increase in the viscosity of the oil (thickening of the oil) is prevented. The last blending process then takes place in the engine. The trendsetting formula triggers a chemical reaction in the engine - which subjects the oil to pressure and higher temperatures - which results in the unique properties of the Lifetime oil.
- Better performance
- Quieter operation
- Fuel consumption is lower
- Fewer CO2 emissions
- Lower repair costs

19. The lubricant turned black soon after the oil change. Is that normal?
Yes. On the one hand, it is a sign that the oil is limiting the amount of dirt and helping to prevent deposits. On the other hand, up to half a liter of old engine oil remains in the oil pump, oil pipe and hydraulic valve lifter after an oil change. This old oil naturally mixes with the new oil, which then turns dark. Therefore, the color is not an indication of the oil’s age.
